The recent update of Google Maps 3.4 would be good news for Motorola Droid user, but the juicy news that the phone gets an Android 2.1 update should be sometime in the future, which should help better compete with Google nexus of Man.
The firmware is still run by testing at Verizon, but details about them includes the following:
- The latest version 2.1 build 1
- The browser now supports multi-touch, but there is no flash in sight.
- The launch window is still the same as 2.0.1, so there is no rotating 3D grid of icons. You’re still down with the pull-up tab at the bottom
- No active wallpapers
- News and Weather widgets from the Nexus One are included in the price.
